SURFACING MATERIAL: Beadazzled Geode™ in MR-BG-1554

We are pleased to announce our exciting and elegant Maya Romanoff Mirror Collection™, the result of our newest collaboration with APF Munn. Our Mirror Collection™ features 6 styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary. Constructed using a wide range of premium native and imported hardwood, utilizing non-destructive harvesting practices and eco-friendly urethane adhesive, each mirror is customizable and available finished with Beadazzled^® beading of any size.

Glass beads are hand-applied directly to Callisto's frame. In 12K white gold over blue clay, the profile sweeps down from its outer edge, across a wide panel and ends in a smaller circle of gold. The convex mirror sits deep within a panel of brilliant glass beads, giving the effect of an aura of light, surrounding the moon at center. Features Geode™ Beadazzled Flexible Glass Bead Wallcovering^®.

HEAVY OBJECTS (Mirrors)

Frames and Mirrors will usually come with one of the following devices: Hanging Wire or Wooden/Metal Cleat.

We always recommend using professional installers to install heavy objects on a wall.
Heavy objects will come with a wooden or metal cleat installed on the back of the frame or mirror. The top part of the cleat will be installed into the frame and the other part of the cleat should be interlocked and taped to the top cleat.
Measure the point where the two cleats meet from the top of the frame to determine where you need to install the cleat on the wall.
Decide on and mark the position where the cleat will be installed to the wall. It is very important that this cleat be installed perfectly level.
Make sure that the wall surface is flat. If the wall is bowed where the wall cleat is to be installed, the cleat will need to be shimmed out as necessary to create an unbowed line to allow the frame cleats to connect properly. Use washers or wood shims.
Attach the cleat to the wall using wall anchors or screws run directly into the wall studs.
The wooden framing in walls, called studs, are typically spaced 16 inches apart. You can locate studs with an electronic stud finder that detects the nails that hold the wall covering to the studs.
Screw-in anchors, toggle bolts, molly bolts or other heavy-duty fasteners can be employed to attach the long cleat to the wall. If required, additional mounting holes can be drilled into the long cleat with a standard drill bit.
To hang the frame, place it flush against the wall with the frame cleats positioned slightly above the wall cleat and the frame centered on the wall cleat. Let the frame slide down the wall slowly and evenly until the frame cleats and wall cleat connect together.
Some side-to-side adjustment of the frame is possible by lifting the frame slightly and shifting it to the left or right. When adjusting, make sure that the frame cleat remains within the span of the wall cleat.
To remove the frame from the wall completely, lift the frame directly upward a couple of inches until the cleats are no longer engaged.

REMINDER: During the installation of hanging device, in the event that the cleat has to be moved from the back of the frame, the installer must double check that the location of the screw and its length accommodates the thickness of the section of the wood frame. This is mandatory to eliminate any screws being drilled (from the back) straight through the surface (front) of the frame. The installer must also take note of the position of the mirror—so that the screw is not driven into the mirror/breaking the mirror.

CLEANING

WOOD AND VENEER SURFACES

Use a clean, dry, soft cloth first to clean the surface. If dry cleaning is unsuccessful water should be used sparingly on wood and veneer surfaces, and only with a damp cloth. Do not apply a soaking wet cloth to wood or veneer and make sure to thoroughly dry surfaces after cleaning them.

GILDED SURFACES

Absolutely no liquids should be used to clean a gilded surface. Please use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning purposes. If the unclean area persists, please consult a local frame shop or art gallery for professional cleaning options.

GLASS AND MIRROR SURFACES

Clean with regular glass cleaner with a clean cloth. Do not use the dirty cloth that was used for dusting or cleaning the frame surface.

PLEXIGLASS SURFACES

Absolutely no ammonia based products should be used on an acrylic surface. Please use either water or an alcohol based solution with a clean cloth. We recommend using a cleaner specifically for plexiglass.

CARE

WOOD, VENEER AND GILDED SURFACES

Wood, veneer, gilded surfaces and the finishes that cover them are sensitive to sunlight. Please avoid extended exposure to direct bright sunlight.
Dust often with a soft dry cloth. An old (but clean) cotton T-shirt or similar cloth or chamois is ideal. Dust is abrasive and excessive accumulations of dust or not dusting properly can result in excess wear and may also dull the otherwise beautiful finish on your frame.
