Thinner and more flexible than our original Mother of Pearl™, yet just as beautiful and durable. Hand-crafted flexible veneer of layered capiz shells are inlaid in a Chevron pattern with an extra durable top coat for easy maintenance. 18”x18” tiles made from 1” x 4.5” luminescent shell pieces are inlaid on an ultra-flexible net backing, which makes these tiles incredibly flexible and versatile for a wide variety of applications.

CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR
MAYA ROMANOFF WALLCOVERINGS
CLEANING
  • Before cleaning any product, we reccomend testing first on a small, inconspicuous area.
  • If necessary, many of our products may be cleaned by blotting the soiled area with a soft, clean cloth dampened with a weak solution of a mild liquid detergent. Dry with a soft cloth. Please contact Customer Service at 800.465.6909 to confirm that your wallcovering may be cleaned using this method.
  • Avoid getting the wallcovering excessively wet.
  • Do not use cleaners, solvents, or chemicals of any kind to clean Maya Romanoff products.
  • Wallcoverings made of fabric and natural grasses may be lightly vacuumed for normal dust accumulation.
CARE
  • Avoid direct, bright or reflected sunlight. Our wallcoverings are not guaranteed against fading or color change.
  • Maya Romanoff wallcovering materials are primarily formulated for dry-use areas.*

*Polyurethane can be applied to some of our products after installation to improve our products' retained beauty over time through increased resistance to occasional or light moisture. This coating is NOT a guarantee of waterproofing. We reccomend testing first on a small, inconspicuous area. Maya Romanoff is not responsible for unsatisfactory results.

If a product requires more specific care and cleaning instructions, it will be noted on the product-specific installation instructions. Installation instructions come wrapped with every roll of shipped wallcovering and can also be downloaded from our website.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SEMI-WET AREAS &
ADDITIONAL PROTECTIVE COATINGS
  • A thin layer of water-based polyurethane may be applied to the installed wall tiles 48 hours after product installation. This will form a barrier coat and help prevent moisture from penetrating between the tiles. We recommend Low-Luster Benwood Acrylic Polyurethane***, a superior Benjamin Moore® product. The sheen of the Low Luster on top of the factory finish is very similar to that of the original factory finish. If a glossy finish is desired, you may elect to use the High-Gloss Benwood Acrylic Polyurethane****.

APPLICATION DETAILS:

  • Apply a generous coat to installed product with a foam or nap roller.
  • Smooth polyurethane with a 4" foam brush (L to R direction for MMS & MPS items, criss-cross direction for MAS & MCS).
  • After smoothing once, go back over it again and again before it is dry; each time with a softer touch. This allows for even polyurethane application, and catches any drips.
  • If extra protection is desired, re-apply a second coat after another 48-hours of curing.
